Yesterday I was looking for a verse to put on Twitter. Laurern suggested her life verse: "Be still and know that I am God." Wow, what a concept. Be still. It is not a suggestion. No, it is a command. God tells us to BE STILL. That is hard, at times impossible, in our society. I don't have kids and it is hard for me, I am sure it gets exponentially harder with ball games, school plays, homework, swim meets, all of the above times ten! But, I think if you can't "be still" physically, I think what He is saying is to be still emotionally. Let your mind be at ease. Know that God is working everything out. You sitting and worrying about it (probably losing sleep you are worrying so much) is not good. In those moments where you feel like you life is in chaos and you can't go anymore. Be still. Know that He is God- and you are not.

When you look at the underside of a quilt being created it is a mess of threads and raveled scraps and frayed cloth. But when we turn it over it is amazing to see the way all those pieces have come together to make something so beautiful. This is the story of my life and how God is making something out of all the crazy pieces of my life. I hope it encourages you to look at what He is doing in your life, too.

A good word for sure! When I am still before God He does quiet my soul and remind me He has it under His control.
